Today marks a significant date for those who follow ‘deaths of famous painters’.
Both Edvard Munch and Salvidor Dali died on this day in 1944 and 1989 respectively.
Dali’s famous pointed mustache and Munch’s ‘The Scream’ painting are probably what will trigger their memories in most people’s heads. But both were infamous within art circles during their time.
1893’s ‘The Scream’ inspired numerous expressionist painters in the early 20th century, but most recently saw a wave of ‘Scream’ Halloween masks, thanks to the horror film series ‘Scream’.
