One of radios leading ladies turns 40 today.
BBC Radio 6 music’s Edith Bowman was born on this day in 1974 and has been lighting up the TVs and radios across the UK since just after the turn of the millennium.
Starting her career with MTV as a newsreader, Bowman is most prominently known for her work with BBC Radio 1 where she has presented a number of shows. Most notably, Edith worked with Colin Murray for a number of years with great success initially on weekends, then weekday afternoons.
She married ‘Editors’ frontman, Tom Smith, late in 2013 and the couple have two children, Rudy and Spike.
Happy Birthday, Edith!
